JEE Main Rules and Regulations 2017 for Droppers: Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Main) 2017 has been published for admission in various IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), NITs (National Institutes of Technology), CFTIs (Central Funded Technical Institute) and IIEST Shibpur.
The interested candidates eligible for the JEE Main 2017 and JEE (Advance) Main 2017 can apply through online on or before the date given in Notification PDF.

JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Droppers
The eligible candidates can apply to the JEE Main 2017 and JEE (Advance) Main 2017 through the online only on or before 2 January 2017.
Joint Entrance Exam Main is an all India common entrance exam for engineering, which is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a Board of Education for public and private schools, under the Union Government of India.
IIT JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Droppers
There are mainly four eligibility criteria for a dropper to appear for JEE Main like Class 12th Performance, Age Limit, Number of Attempts and Qualifying Year.
JEE Main 2017 for Droppers Class 12th Performance
There shall be no weightage for the 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE (Main) examination 2017,
For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE (Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards.
IIT JEE Main 2017
For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12 th/qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Main)-2017.
The candidates who have taken four subjects are not permitted to write JEE (Main) 2017.
Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2014 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2017or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2017.
Candidates who appeared in class 12th/equivalent qualifying Examinations in 2014, did not pass in 2014, but passed in 2015 are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2017.
JEE Main 2017 Age Limit
General and OBC Category candidates -whose date of birth falls on or after 1st October 1992 are eligible for JEE (Main) 2017.
In the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PwD candidates who are born on or after 1 October 1987 are eligible.
Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered.
IITJEE Main 2017 Number of Attempts
The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE (Main) shall be limited to 3 (three) and according to the rules and regulations a student can appear for JEE Advanced to a maximum of two times consecutively.
JEE Main 2017 Qualifying Year
The candidate must have passed their 12th class examination or equivalent examination in the year 2015 or 2016 to become eligible for JEE Main 2017.
