Eligibility for appearing in JEE (Main) 2017 for Foreign Nationals
JEE Main 2017 Date of Birth
The Candidates must have aged born on or after 1st October 1993 for General Candidates are eligible. JEE Main 2017 Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)
Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2015 or 2016; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2017 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main)-2017.
Not Eligible for Joint Entrance Exam Main 2017
- Interested Applicants who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2015 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2017or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2017.
- Applicants who appeared in class 12th/equivalent qualifying Examinations in 2014, did not pass in 2014, but passed in 2015 are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2017.
Number of subjects in the QE for JEE Main 2017 Foreign Nationals
Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12 th/qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Main)-2017.
The candidates who have taken four subjects are not permitted to write JEE (Main) 2017.

For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE (Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards.
For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
Number of Attempts
The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE (Main) shall be limited to 3 (three) and according to Notification student can appear for JEE Advanced to a maximum of two times consecutively.
JEE Main 2017 for Foreign Nationals
All the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. At the time of filling application form of JEE (Main) 2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data.
In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for JEE (Main) 2017.
Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records.
If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be.
